Re: Insurance!

You're 16, looking to get a sportbike I presume. Look to spend around 2-3k a year. That is if it's on loan or financed. If it's paid off look to pay around $500 a year liability only.

Re: Insurance!

Crrider-
I live in Saline, about ten minutes from you, and I'm seventeen. With both of my parent's cars and my sister's car on our plan, I added my thirty three year old bike to the list and pay $183 for liability only. If you're getting anything newer, obviously expect to pay much more than that. If you're going full coverage on a sport bike, man, I wish I had that kind of money.

Re: Insurance!

what do you need insurance, for. just get a policy then cancel it, and you get most of your money back all you need is that paper anyways.

Re: Insurance!

If only u were a few years older. I got some years on u, but for a brand new bike, I pay $230 a year full coverage, including my 10% discount for that defensive driving course I took. I'm sure there are plenty of other factors they take into account too.

Not a good idea... I tried to pull that, cuz i couldnt afford full coverage since they wanted 4k a year, and my bank sent me nasty letters, so i put just liability on it and then my bank sent me a bill for 890 bucks. They don't like me much anymore, but that 890 is now my comprehensive insurance, so if it gets stolen, the loan is taken care of at least.

Re: Insurance!

do you pay payments on your piece, mines payed off, thats why I can do that with the insurance, alright on my gixxer I had liability, I got hit buy a car, and the guy ran from the scene, this fool left me for dead. my insurance wasnt going to pay then my boys caught him, his didnt pay up because he lied and said he was in fear of his life. that was sh*t, he new the cop in the scene also so they faked the police report, well I didnt get sh*t , but a totaled bike, and a 6g hospital bill, f*ck that. who needs insurance, F*ck them

Hah you are in the same boat as me... I have one at fault accident on my record that i don't even have to mention when getting insurance, but they catch it while doing the underwriting stuff... So they say oh its only 1200 a year for full coverage, and then 2 days later they call and say, ohhh sorry its gonna be 5,892 dollars a year instead how would you like to pay for it??? I was like uhh suck it?? SO i through liability on it AGAIN for 400 bucks a year and just waited till my bank sent me my bill... Cheaper than full coverage and my *** is still covered basically... Unless i total it... Which hopefully won't happen....

Re: Insurance!

yeah, hopefully being the key word. I'll be running off luck for one more year before my rates drop and I can even worry about trying to get full coverage.

Re: Insurance!

yeah, since you're in the same spot as me a little extra luck would be great for the both of us. Just dont let duffman scrape that thing too hard while you're on liability
