**what do u think ?**

i really need to get a new chain but i was waiting for the big rear sprocket +10 to arrive then i go and buy one then they told me that its gona take a couple of weeks. is it ok to get the chain now and fit it on my stock sprockets then later when i get my sprocket open the chain and add some links and fit it again
is it a bad idea?
will the chain snap or something?
or is it something normal?

Re: **what do u think ?**

I kinda thought once you shortened a chain that was it. You have to grind off a link to shorten it correct? So what would you do, put a second clasp on an extended section?

Re: **what do u think ?**

as long as the chain matches the sprockets you can add links to make it bigger....(ie. 520,525,530)

if you are running a 520 chain match it up wiht 520 sprockets and so on
when you get the bigger sprocket you can just add links to make it fit using a master link
just make sure the links you add match the chain size

Re: **what do u think ?**

i'd take some off to go to stock gears and then add them back once you get the bigger sprocket
