Re: Which damper do u prefer.....

I had a scotts on my 954.... which some people now know i no longer have it for some ODD reason. (look under open discussion... the saga continues for the story) but according to joe brown the scotts pins are known to break off so im thinkin bout going to a ohlins or something shaft like.

Is it a rip off of the Scotts....I need one and I know nothing about this one.

Gprs are a lot cheaper and easier to adjust on the fly then the scotts but they both work the same pm me for prices

I run on my 750 an ohlins rod in the bottom stock position, and a gpr up top, but right now my gpr is all exploded so I'll have to get one of the stunt versions.

Re: Which damper do u prefer.....

i have a scotts....here's why i don't like them: the mounting kits

they have little screws in them that strip. i had to cut my mount off because the screws stripped and i couldn't get it off to adjust my headtube. The gpr has a differnet mounting method that wouldn't get stuck on, i like that.

i'm thinking of getting an ohlins though, they are nitrogen charged so there is absolutely no play i them at all. only problem is cost.

i might give gpr a call about that thing but usually rotory has more play than rod. i'm wanting to go rod, but i really want to keep my mirror brace on my 929.

No nead to read any further after the first response to your question. With the pro-active variable speed damping this is what all street/stunter/riders need. Less damping on slow stuff, more when you need it. Not like the others that always have a static pre-set resistance when you do not need it making the bike slower/harder to turn at slow speeds.

Re: Which damper do u prefer.....

don't do it man. i talked to this rep from ohlins, and he was saying that rotary dampers (scotts, gpr, ohlins rotary) are for dirt bikes and enduros, and although a lot of guys have Scotts for their street bikes, they don't work as well as top mount dampers. for street you should get a top mount damper. i got an ohlins and it's totally worth every penny. if price doesn't matter, you should totally get an ohlins. a buddy of mine got a GPR last week for his SV650 and it already leeks. he 's used it like twice!

Hit them up, talk to Jeff Norman (owner) and tell them to set u up with the U.S. Stunt Riders setup, they'll know and hook u or anyone else up fat. plus if ur a bling-bling stuntr they can mix up all there crazy anodized colors for u (red,blue,orange,green,black,purple...all kinds of dope ****)

sounds like the way to go.
