Re: question about exhaust

I had a half Yosh system on my 1000 last year that eliminated the gixxers exhaust valve. It didn't seem to effect it any but i never rode it stock and barely ever rode scott's or another 1000 so i really cant be sure. I would think it would effect it a little, but not too noticeably.

Re: question about exhaust

Surely you would have less backpressure which should change the engine brake, but, look how many people are running open headers and not having a prob. I know not all have the valve but it shouldn't be a whole lot different. I'd say it will just take some minor adjustments to your style to get the feel for it.

Re: question about exhaust

Two months ago i fitted a full yoshi on my 1000 and indeed it lost a lot from 1000rpm to 5000rpm but it revs faster, sounds great, and it hits the rev limiter without losing any power.Wheelies second gear however i hit the throttle. If you don't want to loose low and mid range power go just for an end can.I know akrapovic works great on hondas.Whatever you do fit an air filter too.
