run about 45-55mph then pull in the clutch and rev to about 9 or 10k and slip the clutch. I don't really know for sure the exact rpm's "cause I just listen to the sound of the motor but on your 600 what I said should be about right.

Re: How to clutch it up in 2nd???

on my F4i id hop up on the back pegs going about 45mph.. not sure how much i revved it b4 i dropped the clutch, 10-12rpm'ish im guessing, its been a while since ive ridden hehe... but i noticed when i was on the back pegs i wouldnt have to rev it as much, id just pull up more.... i guess its just an instinct kinda thing..

Re: How to clutch it up in 2nd???

exactly just listen and start small and work your way up. All you really have to do is break the front wheel off the ground and keep cracking the throttle to bring it higher and higher. On my R1 with -1+4 gears I just run about 30 and give a little rev and slip the clutch and up it goes. I bring it up to the balance point quick that way I'm not running 80 by the time I get there. But start slow and don't try standing on the back pegs till you experienced enough 'cause after you pass the balance point the back break is the only thing that will save ya.

Re: How to clutch it up in 2nd???

on my friend's gixxer 600, I found it best to cruise between 45-55mph, then twist the throttle like you would under hard acceleration (don't have to whack it). At the same time, quickly slip the clutch...it comes up every time. (when the clutch is back out, you should be 3/4-full throttle...it will come up quick, so when you get to the bp, you will have to let off the throttle to keep from looping it.) It is all about timing. Also, it helps to give a tug on the bars and keep your a$$ as far back as possible. Just practice and wear your gear!

Re: How to clutch it up in 2nd???

dude, you shouldnt have to be going about 45-55 to pop the clutch. on 600s you can go about 30mph and pop the clutch and it will come up fine. i had an 03' 636 and could pop it at 30 exactly in second and it would come up no problem. same on my r6 and my buddies 02' gxsr 600. but start out slow. just get up to a good speed.(30 and up) pull in the clutch and the best and safest way to learn is to just rev it up little bit and dump the clutch and feel what the bike does. and then rev it more and more until the bike comes up to a comforitable hite for you. just try to keep you foot over the rear brake. just in case. good luck

i try not to clutch it up if i dont have to. Bouncing up is awesome. But if you are learning 12's and rear brake then maybe clutching it up is the way to go. But my first good wheelie ever on a BIG BIKe was clutch in it up. Its the easist way to get the front end up.

Re: How to clutch it up in 2nd???

you can throttle the 600 up in 2nd but the only way that i could do it comforitable is by stand ups. just have to have to be in the power ban and give a good bounce and let off the throttle and then punch it real quick. but if you are still learning sit downs then i would wait for the stand ups until you are conforitable with the sit down. but like i said just take it slow. you dont want to go over. because that is never fun. lol. also practice on feathering the throttle. just remember. take your time and dont rush. one step at a time.

You don't have to go that fast, but it puts you well into the power band. For someone who is just learning, I think that is best because once you are up, your throttle is not as sensitive and you don't run the risk of hitting the power band while up and flipping it. Once you get the feeling of it, then you can try it slower.
