Re: MX bars VS clip ons

Clip-ons rock. MX bars are for MX bikes. When you wreck, just replace the insert (most of the time) and you're good to go. I carry one in my trunk whenever I do a session.

Re: MX bars VS clip ons

Been riding dirtbikes my whole life. well 20 years of it. Still am. But I just flipped my clipons and straitend them out a bit and it feels identical.. All mx bars do is raise them up and make them look like funny bikes. And I know combos would be easier with all the room so its all prefrence and how good your game is. stunnin over looks ya know. BUT. the guys that mentioned that finding a set of MX bars would me much easier than finding a clip on.. but then again Ive droped my bike twice and turned in the clip ons.. Pulled out my handy dandy toolkit and was back at it. I may have bent my bars if they were MX. so.. I dont think im gonna vote.. to much to think about. haha

Preference. To each their own. I love my bars. I feel weird riding a bike with clip ons now, but I think a full fairing bike with clip ons is by far more sick nasty looking.

tried stock, flipped and turned and mx and I can say that I personally like flipped clip ons the best. it was a night and day difference when I flipped them.

i have a 900rr with mx bars and only rode it a handful of times so far! I did do a couple laps on my mini (unadilla) motocross track with the 900 , something I could not have done with clip-ons! I am pretty tall and it just feels right ! one thing the 900 still does not turn like a dirtbike with the mx bars! peace

http://www.hoheydesigns.com/929_954_triple.html

Have the best of both worlds you choose which set-up you want to run.
Our Honda triple currently fits 929,954 and F4/F4i's with 929/954 frontends. Note if you choose to run a 1000rr frontend you will have to make sure you are using a 954 or 929 lower triple. Tag Metal bar mounts required. +5mm for sufficient bar/fork tube clearance. No need to lower your bike anymore to run clip-ons on top of your triple.

Coming very soon Kawasaki triple 03-06 636's

Re: MX bars VS clip ons

Could you get away with flippin the stock clip ons or you gotta get some extended clip ons? Obviously u can't just push em up cos of the front fairing on the 07 600rr. Proudly learning and hurting.

Re: MX bars VS clip ons

i used to run FI 0° clip ons on a full fairing gsxr. I never thought of running DB, but when ho-hey dropped his new tripple I had to give them a shot. I will never switch back to clip-ons, at least not on my lot bike. DB bars give me the leverage i want while stunting. But i will say that i can do every trick in my bag on either! like bill said, if you have the skills with one you will have it with the other. What i dont agree with is jason britton bagging on them on national television, now every squid thinks they are ghey because mr britton clowns them.

and if you are running vortex or any other clipon flipped and turned out you are getting the same advantage as db bars just not quite as high/pulled back. Bottom line is building a stunt bike is all about changing things. like john said, the list of changes the average stunter makes on a bike means its no where near its stock form. Just ride it like you stole it no matter what you rock.
