Denting in the tank
I just bought an extra tank on ebay.. Now for the hard part.. How do I smash it in so I can sit on it? Some pics would really help. Maybe some instructions of what to use, a hammer? I saw a starboys video where he just jumped on the tank!? If it helps I have a 2002 cbr 600 f4i..
Thanks

NO! You have to do it the right way.

In order to get it to mold to your ***... you have to use your *** to dent it.

I had some of my friends hold the bike up straight and I practiced jumping from the pegs to a highchair position, or a christ to a highchair, etc.

This gives it the perfect shape and as an added bonus, gets you comfortable doing some jumping around on the bike that would probably scare the sh|t out of you if you were trying it by moving.

I gained a lot of confidence doing that.

Good luck!
ok an f4i won't dent using your ***!!! you'll break your tail bone before the tank dents. using your *** works great for gixxers and double R's but won't work on the f4i
use a rubber mallet or hammer wrapped in a towel and start by hitting alittle around the back of the gas cap, once the dents start, you should be able to kick it in with your foot. the best way i've seen on a f4i it to have the gas cap pointing up and toward the front(it will bottom out anyway) and don't dent any futher forward than the front of the gas cap. then work back, keep sitting on it and see what feels comfortable, then form a little more..............TED

ive got a F4i, I do tank wheelies all the time & its never dented in - that **** is strong. Even from comming down in a panic REAL high.
I like how it is stock, it angles down & keeps ur *** there. Its nice & narrow too.
enough of my rambling.

F4I tanks are a bitch to mash smooth.
Jump up and down on the bitch and then smooth it with a rubber mallet. That tank is hard as hell. Landing from tank wheelies isnt going to do anything unless you weigh 300+lbs.

Can you guys post some pictures of good dents? I'm thinking about denting mine in, but I don't want it to look like crap. I just want to see if it's posible to make it look good.
