I am looking to upgrade to an one of the following three bikes. I have a soft spot for Honda but the kawi look awfully appealing. All three have are salvage and the 09 zx6r needs the most work out of them all.

Also how does the 08 zx6r stack up against the 09 zx6r???

**** the rr and the kawis dont know much but the 09 has the new showa big piston forks

 

the RR is small and has mad engine break. not much room to work with. if you are used to running the clipons way out, forget about that.

 

The size of the rr does make it appealing but I have heard they are brittle and you have to make several changes for idle adjustment?

 

If u want something easy to ride... Don't buy the Honda. It is NOTHING like ur used to. I'm starting to get a feel for mine but as for everyone else who KILLS it on a kawi or an F4i I just let them get on mine and sit back and laugh

the idle is stronh though! so as long as your on idle doing regular, eeeh like seatstander 0's it'll be fine but the rest is a lot of getting used to!

 

These bikes and theyre fuel injection system r much different than urs buddy... Unless u have actually ridden one of these and think that after riding it Im gonna go with No Sir. Idle is the one thing they dont have.

damn.. sucks! kinda like my buddy's 04 gsxr. touch the brake and its over! why the **** is that?

 

tony prez has been having big idle problems with his, he's been riding his kawi for the past 2 weeks trying to get it figured out, i keep teling him to just rid the cbr and get a 09 kawi or keep riding his 04.

 

I haven't ridden either of the kawis but I have spent a little time on the street on my buddies 07 RR and I love now light it feels. I'd love to have one to stunt. I think they look the best out of the 3 listed too. Get that and learn to kill it.

 

I think its tps related...the bikes dont come with an idle adjuster from the factory. Im workin on a fix now

 

I thought Colton had figured out a way to fix the idle on them?

 

My 2007 rr was great till it got stolen! Tuff as nails, crashed it a few time's but not cheap to fix. I like the years 2003-2006 best though...

 

He has 4 of them... 2 for freestyle, 2 for racing. Ive heard he sent the ecu's back to Factory HRC for remapping. Just hearsay but what ever he did... it worked. He was a squid on it at first compared to his kawi. Apparently Now hes got it all figured out. Ive messaged him several times with ZERO response. **** him... ill figure it out on my own. I dont know ur level of riding but if ur still in the beginning to intermediate stages of stuntriding this bike IS NOT FOR YOU

 

Rowdy you might want to call up joe vert and ask how he fixed his aprilla, his is throttle by wire too. He might have some good info.

 

Yeah, I'd like to make the step up to a newer RR when I get out of my squidly stage, but that isn't going to be any time soon, so for now I'm sticking with the F4i.

 

+ very well put rowdy but tony is not a squid, he used to ride with the motopsychoz when they were around. I also tried to hit up colton about the idle issue and couldn't get a response either

 

why wouldnt he respond to that question? i would suggest going to a experienced mapper/tuner though, they might have some answers.. anyone knwo about the gsxr's and the idle on em? like which years have good idle, and which not? warrenjamez used to kill an 04, had good idle tricks on em.. but my bud's 04 sucks. now jamez kills it on a newer one, still looks good..

 

The only thing i could do is take off the speed sensor and ride it like that, but the bike is waaaaaay to twitchy, like the bottom end is strong as **** and not smooth at all. Street killer for sure, just cant get over how snappy the throttle is. Lets just put it this way, the 08 rr i had was nice and i was good as **** on it, totaled it and switched to a kawi 636 and was instantly better. Just the total feel of the kawi was better, idle was 10101010 times smoother. Not hating but if you stunt the rr props to you, cause its definetly a hard bike to ride. btw rowdy ill be sending you pics tonight of the exhaust a usb pc3, havnt had time to get around to sending them

 

I'd go with the 09 ZX6R from that list... The 08's look sick but have no bottom end
