After reading this thread over and over I am still so fucking confused as to what exactly you need to make a 06-07 GSX-R front end work on the f4i. The bottom GSX-R triple and bearing slide right into the F4i and the you're saying that the only thing that needs to be replaced is the bearing in the top GSX-R triple? Or did I miss a part where one or both triples has to be replaced? Can someone just make a list of EVERYTHING you would need to get to make the 06-07 swap work without having to shim anything? How about a list of EVERYTHING it would take for an R-1 frontend swap to work, including which year frontend works best or if it even matters. I just think one post to clear up the confusion is what everybody needs.

for an 06 07 gsxr frontend, as far as i am now, u use the whole gsxr frontend including triples and that bearing thats linked gets swapped for the race on the f4i..

yeah thats the bike i was talkin about. i got some pm's from a while ago from Nine54f4i about what he had to do to get the gsxr triples to work on the f4i. I pasted them below.

Your lower bearing is fine (although i replaced the lower bearing with the tapered all balls bearing and race) For the top bearing i used a 6906-2RS i got off of ebay. I have an extra i can ship you for like 5 bucks if you need it. The bearing size is 30x47x9

Other than that i did have to mod a few minor things. The steering stops have to ground off and relocated. I Just drilled and tapped for two 10mm bolts and used those as steering stops. The stock upper bearing and race are somewhere near 14mm thick... So when i took the stock upper race out i ground it down to about 4.5mm and put it back in and put the bearing on top of it. You need the bearing to stop just just about at the bottom of the threads but not covering any of the threads at the bottom of the lower triple.

After all that it just goes right in. ... Easier said than done heh? If you have any other questions just hit me up man id be glad to help.

I did everything myself ground the spacer down with a belt sander and magnet to hold it. Then used a set of 30 dollar digital calipers i got from Lowes to measure.

So when i took the stock upper race out i ground it down to about 4.5mm and put it back in and put the bearing on top of it

yup, i have the gsxr setup on the bike im trying to sell.. but i have gsxr triples and zx10 forks, and works great

yep, bottom bearing same, stock top race and bearing get replaced with one of these sealed bearings.

so that bearing replaces the race, then the top triple bearing isnt needed?? or ud still have to run the top bearing right?? did zac have to grind down the stops on the triple do you know??

Never mind - he used the GSXR triples coz he couldnt find 929 triples and R1 forks

Do you gotta press the f4i stem into the gsxr bottom triple or will the new bearings you get allow you to put the gsxr triple right into f4i

hey does anyone know if the 954 triple and the 929 triple are the same i tried to piece one together. think i might have 954 lower triple and a 929 upper triple. it is looking like the 929 is more narrow which is good with me but i need to know if for sure they are differnt so i can finish getting my set up

my boy gave me a smokin deal on his 954 frontend, i dont have a garage right now so my bike is stuffed in my boys garage along with a million other things, just dont want to have to leave something half done in peices in his shit
