Well, I want to cut my tail down, but I have the trunk lock in the way..

What did y'all do? Do you just eliminate it and have no lock on your trunk or what? How do you keep the trunk closed? I'd like to keep my trunk because I ride on the street a lot

i took the bracket that locks the trunk off cuz my shoe lace keep gettin cought and i bolted one of those plastice buckle on the seat and the subframe (were the bracket that locks the seat down goes) you know, that plastice buckle that you find on a hip pouch. the one i used is was from my snowboard leash.

 

Take the center part with the key out, there is still a lever to open the trunk, then buy scratched tail sides on ebay and cut those down. When you want the full tail again just put your stock parts back. I even have a scratched yellow 98 and a 99 side panel I would sell cheap.

my **** is already pretty messed up from parking on it... I want to lose that bracket also though.. it gets in the way

 

still have trunk lock in place, key n **** is gone, but i can fit my foot in there fine, just had to mount the tailight way in..

 

the bar doesn't stick out too far like that? I had a bar on mine for like a day, and with the bar positioned with JUST enough room for my foot to fit between it and the lock.. the bar stuck out way too far

 

i totally cut my unter tray and **** ... the taillight is crammed in probably 2-3 inches... when i open the rear seat, the plug in for the bulbs are underneat that bar on the insed, if you look, you will see what i mean... here is a side view of how my bar is..
