practicing stoppies. question.

right me and my team mate have been practicing stoppies recently. never really practiced them before. so we thought we would go for a limited approuch so we said 80ft. so were trying to get it high straight away and get some distance. were getting about 100ft now is that good or ****. plus what pressure is best? and any other tips would be good. :YEAH

Re: practicing stoppies. question.

Sounds like your doing pretty good. I don't know if I can hit 100ft from an unlimited approuch.
I read somwhere that if your distance is double your approuch then your doing really good.

Re: practicing stoppies. question.

Does tire pressure make that big of a difference with the tire skidding? I can't seem to get my tire (brand new pilot power) to pick up over say, 20mph. I'm gonna fiddle with my suspension, but also I run whatever tire pressure cyclegear put in the tire when they changed it, which I imagine is 30-40.

big time, but compression damping does too. Make it soft, and make the rebound damping hard.

Re: practicing stoppies. question.

100' with 80' approach? are you going downhill with a 30mph wind on your back?

Yes the PSI will effect the temp of the tire the lower it is the hotter the tire will get and the sticker!! try dropping it to 25-30 PSI

thats a good set up. i like my stock brake pads. 100 ft on 80ft approach is pretty good. all i can say is practice practice practice! keep up the good work. and if "mike m" is who i think it is he is "kinda good" at stoppies. he will have some good advice.
