lots of 06 636 questions.....
Re: lots of 06 636 questions.....
+1 cuz on suzukis and kawis(idk about yamaha) the FI cage sits right over the stator cover where the strut connects with the tube and the cage flexes so easily that with the right hit it flexes that part right into the stator cover and smashes it open, ive seen this happen sooo many times on suzukis and kawis. hondas get away with it cuz it doesn sit in front of their stator cover. so with that being said, i guess you could generally say that most any cage will have the potential to damage motor mounts but cages like SI dont flex into the stator cover which makes it far superior to an FI cage.

Re: lots of 06 636 questions.....
my personal set up.
kleen mod
SI cage
ESD pegs for rear (waiting on SI to finish the subcage so i can put one of those on)
cut the front pegs down to where the feelers are and remove the feelers and you will never break a rearset.
stock exhaust works the best, great for scraping. but if u do remove it your FI light will be on unless u make a bracket for the servo motor to hit stops when it runs a check when u turn the ignition on.
stock clips on flipped = butta ive kept em under the tripple and dropped the forks down to give me some more clearance for my upper to not hit my fender and ease in rolling stoppies
if you plan on keeping the tail light, glue/jb weld it in or it will fall out eventually.
i run gpr that likes to blow ever 6k miles.
run standard level of oil
hohey dual caliper duhh runnin a magura 13mm which is alot better than the brembo for this set up.
im about to upgrade the front calipers to the 07/08's
thats bout all i got i think

The heat does play a huge role in how the kawis run, the past 2 days have been humid as **** and I really feel the difference and thats with the stock exhaust.

yep the nissins have alot more solid of a bite than those junky *** tokicos
Re: lots of 06 636 questions.....
ive had 2 05/06's and my servo motor was fucked up at one point for around 3 months before i got a new one which makes the exahust valve stay open and i can tell you for sure that the stock exhaust valve makes the idle pull noticeably stronger. and both my bikes were bought in brand new unstunted completely mint non fucked with condition. my 06 was actually totally stock with only 4k miles and my 05 had powercommander and exhaust with 4500miles. maybe tony needs to do a throttble body sync or something cuz even on dyno maps it shows that you lose a slight amount of low end power with an aftermarket exhaust.
now that i think about it, maybe it has something to do with the heat, cuz im from ny and the temp is usually very mild but when we have some major hot days i have noticed that my idle doesnt pull as strong when its like 85+ outside. so being in miami maybe the temp has some affect on something.

when tony runs the stock exhaust he has the cables to the exhaust valve disconnected ...i always tell him the bike will have more low end power with the stock exhaust and he always says it pulls better with anftermarket exhaust but he dosen't have the valve hooked up so he thinks im wrong

bro, go to kawiforums.com for jumper mod nfo and caliper info. tones of people are doing the caliper mod. and yes the jumper mod does deal with the ecu mapping as well, cuz there are several people that do it with aftermarket exhausts, including me, who noticed a difference in performance and sound..
