newb got a couple questions

I have an 03 zx6rr and i want a cage for it but i need one that doesn't involve cutting the plastics any suggestions, i am not looking at doing full on stunting just some wheelies and stoppies (i'm sure thats what most of you real stunters said also)

also, what will i have to do to make it so there is no damage if (when) it falls
i know levers, mirrors, do i need to take off my front fairing, any suggestions will be greatly appreciated for i am very new to this.

thank you

ps i did search and check out the stickies couldn't find all the info i need

Salvage titles are like mail order wives without the right paperwork. Without clean papers, you just bought a prostitute.

I want to stunt too, but I dont want to ruin my bike, break bones, put in the time, or get in trouble. I just want to skip those steps and go straight to being cool.

Re: newb got a couple questions

You don't want a cage if you're planing on crashing at a speed over 25 mph...the cage will destroy the rest of the bike in that case...But if you're learning 12's and slow stuff then get a cage

Re: newb got a couple questions

i'm just saying i want to minimize the damage caused by dropping it i know there is no way to make it bulletproof thats just common sense,

getting hurt= common sense
putting in time=common sense
getting in trouble= common sense
knowing that high speed crashes w/cage cause alot of damage = not common sense (thanks kiN)
knowing wats a good cage w/o cutting plastics= not common sense

yes i wanna do some slow stuff for now

Re: newb got a couple questions

The Freestyle ingenuity cage does not require cutting plastic on the 636. As far as i remember anyways.

i was looking at that one, does the brand matter for strength wise, has anyone had bad luck with any certain brand cage?

Re: newb got a couple questions

the other one i can't really mess with or i would be all over it, its mine for the time being my friend is giving me money every week for it,
stripping it, thats another option, i just want it to look nice at the same time, i'm actually thinking about finding a non-titled bike to practice on.

Re: newb got a couple questions

Don't even waste your time with a non titled bike it will be nothing but headaches. Just look in the classifieds here you will catch a good deal on a fully setup up clean titled stunt bike for like 2500 to 3000. But in the meantime if your learning the bike is gonna get messed up regardless. So either buy a stunt bike or strip your 636.

Re: newb got a couple questions

Make a custom cage out of schedule 40 PVC. Make sure it is schedule 40 though because it is stronger.

I think powers cage doesn't require any plastic modifications. Might want to look into it.
