905 cages are junk

Lastnight i dropped my bike doing circles. I have a 905 cage and still cracked my case cover. Has anyone else had problems like this? Ive never had this happen before. do i need to get a different cage?

Re: 905 cages are junk

Nope. Don't drop your bike doing circles.

P.s. I took a crap a minute ago and realized my butt was cracked....

Moral of the story .... shit happens bro. I have had this happen with three different kinds of cages. After time, it's gonna give way.

Best thing that ever worked for me, as far as using a 905 cage, was to eliminate that bar that they supply that goes under the bike(by the headers) and use all-thread. After time that bar will bend and the sides of your cage will start to cave in. All-thread is pretty cheap to replace vs. buying a new cage. ALSO ... after you tighten down the mounting points on the rest of the cage you can use the all-thread to essentially "spread out" the bottom of the cage, and pull it away from the cases.

I guess I should of added that I am currently running an SI cage now, and have had no problems with it. I just haven't had it long enough to judge ... it's pretty diesel though.

they are tough shit!

Just make sure to replace the all thread anytime it gets bent bad, otherwise it'll snap eventually

Although I still flipped my bike with the all thread already broke, and only managed to break my clutch lever
