Re: F4i clutch arm mod... weld-less version.

i did this on my 636 and i wasnt worth the effort. plus now my clutch makes this clicking noise in the motor. it pulled as easy with the stock length as it does now and i liengthened it 3/4 of an inch

Yup... that or the cable is rubbing the housing down the bottom because of the angle.

On the f4i there is a bracket that needs to be bent outward or the cable will have too much angle and be hard to pull.

Anyone do this on a 600rr yet? I know its a bit tighter and limits the length. just wondering on how far/long you guys went.

Grind out the rivet that holds the swivel/cable connector on the end of the stock arm and drill one more hole about half way down the arm.

Get a piece of flat steel and cut it to size... I did about 5/8 - 3/4 extra length...

Mark and drill out the two matching holes to bolt up to the arm... then a 3rd hole on the end for the cable connector.

I used 6mm grade 12.9 bolts and made the holes just a tad small so the bolts actually screwed them selves into the arm... the nut on the bottom is just for safe measure.

That's how my boy did his and it works just fine...don't sweat it!

Re: F4i clutch arm mod... weld-less version.

Does this mod have to be 10mm, or would anything past the stock hole help?

Re: F4i clutch arm mod... weld-less version.

i dont understand why u can only weld 1/2 inch more on the f4i but if you bolt it on you can get another 1/4inch and make it 3/4 longer?
