foot in seat

cut a hole in my rear seat and tried to use it and it kills my knee?Using the rear peg feels fine, foot in the 12 bar feels fine, and tried a cheater peg before and that felt fine.Am I just not use to it yet and my body positioning is wrong so I get the knee pressure.seems like its hard to sraighten your leg out that way?Any help?

Re: foot in seat

you arent used to it, took me 2-3 sessions to get used to it completely once I cut the hole in my seat.....I stand completely up and actually over the bike. I feel like I have alot more control over the bike than foot-in-bar since I'm over the bike instead of having the clipons at nipple height.

Give it time, once you get used to using it, your knee wont hurt once you're standing up,.......if it did mine would be killing me as bad as my knees are!

Re: foot in seat

same here, feels very comfortable and never had any knee issues. keep your leg straight. you'll get used to it.

Re: foot in seat

Thanks for the help guys.I will give it some more time.Maybe my foot in 12 bar just felt better cause your leg starts off being straight-instead of having to straighten it out once the front wheel comes back far enough, like you do with your foot in the seat. The knee pressure probably came from not getting my leg straight, sort of 1/2 assin the wheelie cause it felt werid.

Re: foot in seat

its gonna feel like the 1st couple times you rode FIB, you'll be fine after some seat time after straightening your leg out.

Try to straighten your arms out a little also. Switching from FIB to The Hole in the Seat tends to make you want to lean over the tank too much; it makes wheelies feel loose so you bend your knee more out of insecurity.

Re: foot in seat

Just make sure you don’t mousetrap with your foot in the seat because when your knee hit’s the tank then it’s really gonna hurt…………………

Re: foot in seat

LIke everyone else said, stand up striaghter..

you gotta be doing something wrong, turning your body weird, putting weird pressure on your knee..

Cause I have a DESTROYED knee (broke it in 3 places and tore my PCL) and I'm in constant pain, and foot in seat doesn't feel any worse for me

I thought you were jokin

mousetrap is when you slam down hard, like stalling out, or chopping the throttle completely to ZERO % and hitting your rear brake in an endo.......think of an upper "mousetrapping" down on ur front fender.

just get the bike on idle with f.i.s two or three times around and you'll straiten up naturally
