![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Going To Mmi O.K. I think MMI is good for what it is. You can go and learn alot of stuff if you apply yourself. I went in 2002 and is was the best thing I ever did for myself. I went to Orlando and it was great. Fun riding scene and clubs! I know people who went and said it was worthless. Well they a the people who partied all night and didn't do any of the work them selves! So it is just like anything in life! You can make what you want! If you want to learn and be a good entry level tech. then go! If you just want to party and waist money then just stay at home! |

![]() | Re: Going To Mmi uti does suck. on the other hand, my buddy and his brother went to mmi in orlando and know their shit! they were gear heads before they went in so i dont know if that might've had something to do with it. one of them slapped a turbo off of an eagle talon on his gsxr 6, and fabbed up everything by hand. so..i guess, if they didnt know what they already knew.....i guess mmi would suck? |

( yard sells....very cheap!) and buy a few or a buch of junk yard bikes and service books and fix them... plus you would have working bikes... i learn better on my own.... fuck teachers... i didn't learn how to read in school.... didn't learn shit. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Going To Mmi It teaches alot of tricks to the trade. Alot of hands on! Alot of performance and basic main. skills! It does help get a foot in the door at dealerships as far as having the paper work to prove you have some basic entry level skills. Not just I have a bunch of junk bikes I fixed on my own! That is a good way to learn but, it does not teach you everything you need! |

I just do it myself sure it costs more and takes more time but thats half the fun of doing it yourself. Fuck paying $30,000.00 for some yahoo to show me what I can figure out my damn self. |

![]() | Re: Going To Mmi MMI phoenix +1 But like anything you take what you want from it...if you dont apply yourself then you learn nothing! They do teach you from the beggining so if you have prior mechanical knowledge its going to suck for the 1st 6weeks!!!!! |

![]() | Re: Going To Mmi i have been thinking long and hard about this subject. mmi sounds great and all, but being a motorcycle mechanic in the #1 motorcycle capitol of the country sounds to me like 9 bucks an hour. no thanks, i love bikes and all, but when it comes to turning wrenches (which i love to do) a project is a project, and an engine is an engine. perhaps working on diesel or aircraft puts better food on the table? ![]() |

that is going to say a hell of a lot more than someone with a certificate who just graduated MMI I'd rather hire the guy whos been doing it for a few years than the guy who just got out of school. ![]() | |
