05 600RR won't start - fuel pump isn't priming, headlights not coming on

I know this belongs elsewhere, but I'm in a hurry and that sub-forum gets NO traffic.

Bike is stock with 10K miles.

I would start checking fuses, but I have NO tools here, can't get the seat off ;-( I'm 70 miles away from my tools and other vehicle.

I'm hoping someone knows exactly what it is, then I'll walk to the auto parts store and buy exactly what tools I need to get to it. (like how the sensor in the airbox will make the low oil light come on if it comes unplugged, this could be something different than a fuse under the seat)

so the gauges light up but when you flip the run switch the pump doesn't prime? Or no power at all? Did you try pop starting it?

No tools in the stock tool kit location under the Mid fairing?

Backlight for the gauges doesn't come on, neutral light does, oil light does, tach swings, speedo counts down to 0.

Tail light is on, bike spins over, but doesn't fire.

It actually started for a second when I first hopped on it, then died. Was running for two seconds or so.

I thought that was weird, but I got gas in this shithole in the sticks and thought maybe it was bad, so I bumped it again and it didn't start. Took me a minute to notice the headlights weren't on.

Took my helmet off, turned the key again, then noticed it wasn't priming.

No stock tool kit, I took it out. I usually ride with an emergency set of tools, but left my backpack at the shop. This is a nice minty bike, I had faith in it, apparently too much

looks like you have to get that seat off at least and check the fuses first...try getting the allen screws with the key or something.

I changed my seat bolts to the quick pin locks so I don't need any tools to pull it off...comes in helpful.

All I could find in the house was a pair of dikes, a crescent, some phillips screwdrivers, and lots of paint supplies (in a box marked tools)

So yeah, there is an autozone about a mile away, looks like it's time to get walking.

if its anything like the 05 ikrr then the main fuse would be under the seat. could be the battery dieing a bit. do you have a trickle charger? might also be the stator or even the rectifier as well...good luck

check tipover, seems liek that's all thats left to kill fuel delivery unless your FP just died.

Re: 05 600RR won't start - fuel pump isn't priming, headlights not coming on

Shit is getting weird, I took all the fuses out of the left side box, put a 10A fuse in for start/bank angle sensor that was in one of the other slots.

Boom, pump primed, bike started. I just figured something went bad with the fuse, but didn't actually blow it. So I look at it and decide not to plug the fuse for the indicators in (because it's a 10A and I don't have blinkers anways) but when I plugged in the head light the bike died, same problem, turned the key and no prime.

I quickly tried a few things, so I don't remember the order, but I used a different order and I think it was when I plugged the gauges in the bike died.

Have to take them all out and put the run/bank angle fuse back in to start the bike, plugging them all in kills the bike, WTF?
