Safest way to keep your self from looping?

I usually try and cover the rear brake cuase it what everyone says to do, but I think pullin in the clutch and stopping the engine momentum is the best way, what do you think?

LMAO,thats a obviuos, but if you let off and cover the brake, theres still alil amount of forward motion goin to the tire, pullin in the clutch stops the pull on the tire alltogether therefore in my eyes increases your chances of gaining control and being able to keep it up. If I could edit the poll I would add let off the throttle to both of the choices.

hmmm!
dude, pull in the clutch and the bike will still have the same amount of momentum goin backwards... actually, the engine will release so it will have more.. let off the gas and hit the brake, everything is better.... i take hittin the brake over pullin the clutch ALLLL DAAAYYY!!! shoot, half the time people hit the brake, they are flyin over the front, lol... that gotta count for somethin.. lata ya'll!
if your past balance point going backwards, pulling in the clutch is just going to have your bike idling as you flip over backwards.
Rear brake is the only thing that is going to stop you from looping once your past that point.

Thanks for the info, I never thought of it the way some of you do.One way to learn is ask questions. But I think Ill try and cover both since each situation can be different and may require one more than the other. I got myself used to not constanly being on the rear brake so its gonna take some gettin used to.Thanks again.
You need to let off the gas and hit the brake- but if you are doing a power wheelie, since this is how most people first learn to wheelie buy the time you think to hit the brake it is probably too late to recover. This 12:00 thing is making wheelies safer to learn because people are trained to lean on the brake right from the start. Back 5 years ago when we were doing 80 mph standups without the brake the occasional crash would be ugly, now if you wipe out doing a brake controlled 20mph wheelie chances are you won't even get a scratch.

i'd have to say, try an turn your left turn signal on, put your kickstand down, and tap your head three times. all before going over, worked for me twice......
(the third time i forgot to tap my head)

Ever hear of "compression braking"? It's that little thing the motor does when you chop the throttle. Go ahead and grab a handfull of clutch at 12:35 and watch the speedo try to drive your head into the asphalt like a ten penny nail. ALWAYS COVER THE REAR BRAKE. It's a good habit to get into, and it's saved my a$$ enough times.
