Need some help or advice.
Sorry that this is so long but i need help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So i've mentioned little parts of this story on a couple threads on here, but here's the whole thing and i need help getting this resolved. Here it goes.
I've been trying to buy bikes that need a little work and fix them up and sell or keep them for a rainy day. Its worked out ok i guess untill the my 954. I bought it back in Feb. with a little cosmetic damage. I got a new tank and right lower for it, and painted it. Put new tires and other little crap (barends, grips, spools) polished the swingarm and rearsets.
I finnaly put it back together and ride it ONCE, then my girl rides it to work one day and to school the next day for her last final. On her way home some dumbazz pulls out and hits her! (she's ok, banged up knee and bruised ego) but the bike is in bad shape. The guy has no d.l. and some crappy insurance company out of georgia.
We call the insurance to report a claim. I then take the bike to Riva motorsports (knowing that they will give me a high azz estimate) and they give me a $5000 list of sh*t it needs (thanks Riva) and i fax it to insurance company, they send an adjuster out to look at it. Then just when i think things are rolling allong smoothly (and i start shopping around for another bike) the stupid insurance company says they can't give me a dime untill they get ahold of their customer. The problem there is that he has no valid phone number, no job, and a fake azz address! Not cool. Its been a month now and i call them everyday harassing them. Now they want to possibly total it out (i'd much rather keep it and make it my dedicated stunt bike) but they still aren't doing anything for me!
What should i do to get this settled faster? I just want the cash a.s.a.p and i don't really want to deal with some shaddy lawyer.
Any advice would be appreciated and sorry for making you read this long essay.
