how is the 16x18 supposed to feel?

I got it on and bled. I think its completely bled. I got 3 air free pulls from the brembo and my rear brake lever before I decided it was done. It pulls to the bar until the farthest 5 settings and it doesn't start braking for the first half inch then gradually increases braking power.

Is that how it's supposed to feel when it's fully bled and working properly?

Yes I did. I spent at least an hour and a half JUST bleeding it. The only thing I didn't do is touch the bleeder valve on the master.

Oh and by pulling it to the bar I mean that it doesn't have enough resistance to stop before the bar on those settings, but when I use the farthest away from the bar settings I can only pull it in about half way. I haven't noticed a difference between letting it sit and pumping it up except maybe a tiiiiiny bit and I can't tell if its just me or if there is actually a problem.

u got air trapped in there somewhere. bleed it from all the banjo bolts in the system. That should fix it.

Why do you say that? Do you think I should try bleeding from the master cylinder? I must have tapped the lever for 5 minutes no air came out the reservoir. I bled the rear brake pedal still air stopped coming out and bled the brembo til air stopped coming out and then did it 5 more times just to make sure.

Re: how is the 16x18 supposed to feel?

just do it. put a wrench on the banjo, wrap it with a towel, pull handbrake lever in (with the whole thing right side up of course), break loose the banjo quick then tighten it up. Release lever. Air will get trapped in there and tapping it wont get it out.

Re: how is the 16x18 supposed to feel?

I'll try it.

Does anyone need a shorty lever for it? I bought the folding and shorty since I didn't know if the folding would work and since it does I decided I'm not gonna use the short one since I want all the leverage and space I can get for coasters.

I dunno what the levers cost since I got them at dealer price so shoot me an offer.

Re: how is the 16x18 supposed to feel?

anyone switch fro a gix1k radial or 636 radial to a brembo....I thinkin about buying a 16X18, and have a 636 radial right now I one finger with, but won't quite lock up the rear tire with a dual caliper set-up from ho-hey

thats kinda how it is. you have to pull it alot farther, and its real easy to pull, but the final stopping power is amazing

I have a 19x20, and that thing is on point the second you touch it, its stupid. I dont know how much difference there is between the 16x18 and the 19x20, but I can tell you that you should not have that much play in it.......

Re: how is the 16x18 supposed to feel?

I will go ahead and bleed the master tomorrow just to be sure but honestly I think it's good. I let it sit for over and hour pumped on it and each pump was the exact same feel.

I think it's just how the 16x18 is. It's not the same as a dual caliper radial (especially factory). It pulls it very smoothly until it bites but if you pull it hard it instantly stops.

Dillen: I went from a radial 636 to a Brembo and I can't say the Brembo is worth the money because it's a loooot of fucking money but it's definitely the best handbrake I've ever felt, so if you want the best handbrake on the market get the 16x18.

As for the lever, I've had some offers, but I paid 35 + tax for it at dealer cost so I'll let it go for 45 shipped whoever wants it first. It's brand new I never even mounted it.
