they are a good learner bike, and then we you get to the point of wanting to circle if you learn on that bike you'll be hella good when you get a 600. I learned on the 9

there's no cons except oil pickup on 893 model - my engine blew, and now I put '98 in...it's like a tank, rock solid, stable, lots of torque, not even that heavy (185 kg dry), gas tank is like a sofa...
just keep the tank full for lots, if it's low on gas it boggs...

you can weld another pipe on the mushroom part (pickup) so it goes back under 90 degrees...I never did it on the old engine, but I always kept like quart oil over max.

Great bike for learning on, they're pretty much indestructible. Has a broad powerand and lots of torque. Only real con is carbs, but that only hurts you when you're doing bar tricks. Once you start doing slow stuff and 12's you will need to keep the tank full though. If you get a 93-95 893cc model the oil pickup isn't good. You either have to make a new one or I think the stock one can just be unbolted and turned 180 and bolted back up. It's not a problem on the 96-99 919cc's. Mines a 99, clean title. I'd say it's worth ~$3k.
