my clutch lever is loose

i have the CRG lever installed on my bike....

if you're not familiar with them, they have 5 different setting for the stiffness of the clutch....i ALWAYS have it on 1 as it is the softest setting.

i went out for a ride last night and the clutch has become veeeeery loose for no apparant reason. setting 4 is now like setting 1 used to be. i looked on and around it a bit and it doesn't look like anyone has messed with it tho i could be wrong.

what could have caused this?

Re: my clutch lever is loose

my clutch is pretty much a living being...

it does what it wants and it loosens up all the time, have to adjust it every few min, the thread in the perch is dead so the adjuster screw can fall out very easy if far out and it's extremly hard to pull, and if its in you have to pull it all the way in just to start to disengage = not functional for stunting...it sucks big time, but im getting another one...

Re: my clutch lever is loose

Their Shoul Be A Major Adjustment At The Other End Of The Cable Where The It Connects To The Clutch. Their Should Be Two Nuts One On Each Side Of The Bracket Adjust That Then Go Back To Your Clutch Perch And Readjust And You Should Fine.

shit i didnt even know you're supposed to lube it.

i messed with with clutch side of the cable a little bit this morning and its now alot better....i can pop wheelies again, but the clutch is somewhat harder than it used to be.

regarding the 2 nuts at the other end of the clutch...which way am i supposed to move em?

Re: my clutch lever is loose

cable maintenance in general is something that goes neglected and its just as important as lubing and adjusting your chain

not really, chains are way more expensive and harder to replace than clutch cables...
not to mention a chain snapping is usually way worse than a clutch cable snapping

speaking of chains....this guys chain just locked and snapped today...and on the freeway! this was followed by a eighteen wheeler knocking him outta the way. the guy is in critical condition.

going back to my cluch cable...i think that tho its not AS important as chain, is still pretty fuckin importat....i mean, i wouldnt want my clutch engaging and disengaging by itself all the time...especially if i'm up on a wheelie.

p.s. its been almost 2 days now, my clutch is still good. havnt adjugest it since then, and i rode alot over the weekend.
