CBR F2 Acerbis headlight mounting?

I have a CBR F2 and I am converting it into a street fighter. I have removed my fairings and I am not sure how I'm going to mount my Acerbis Diamond headlight. My speedometer and fairing bracket are in the way. I could get rid of the bracket what do I do about the speedometer? My cluster stickes out about 6 inches from my forks. I definitly want to keep the cluster. I will not remove it. I am posting pics of the cluster and I would appreciate it if someone could tell me a good looking, and effective way to mount the headlight. Also if someone else could post pix of there F2 or F3 streetfightrs that would be great. Thanks.

Re: CBR F2 Acerbis headlight mounting?

everyone that runs the acerbis style lights just tosses the gauges.. As long as you have good coolant in, a constant wired fan, and a rev limiter, you will never have a problem i ran with no gauges for a really long time. You get used to how the bike sounds and then when you ride a bike with gauges, you never use them. I just keep mine in the truck so that if im at the lot and something sounds really off, i plug them in to see if there are any error codes.

removing the upper fairings and/or sides does not make it a streetfighter...

and since you won't take your gauges off just put the upper back on.

are you going to stunt this bike?

I have no fairings, I'm putting on a cage, I'm putting on a dirtbike headlight, and I already have a 12 bar. What else is there to making a streetfighter? And yes I'm going to stunt my bike. The only reason I don't want to take my gauges off is mostly because of the tachometer. I don't have a rev limiter, and I'm worried about redlining it. I guess I would take them off if I could get an aftermarket tach! How hard are they to hook up? Where can I get a good one?

Re: CBR F2 Acerbis headlight mounting?

get rid of the guages, ziptie the headlamp 2 ur forks and wow, magic, u just streetfighter ur sheit. the f2 is a beefy bike to begin with, and if your redlining, ur already missing up cuz ur going to damn fast. this is what i would do take anything that will break off that bike, cuz shiet will break. and dont even rock a headlamp intill u learn. but what do i know

Re: CBR F2 Acerbis headlight mounting?

I thought the f2's had a rev limiter? guess they dont when did they start? f3 or f4 or f4i ...Im just curious, regardless Im glad the f4i has one but only used while doing coasters and shit. You wouldnt really need it other that that would you? Slow down and you'll be fine...

Re: CBR F2 Acerbis headlight mounting?

Just chop up your gauges. I put together an F2/F3 fighter as one of the 1st bikes I built/sold. I took the gauges and cut out the speedo and used fiberglass and a bit of bondo to build up the sides to make it a solo unit, then just mount it behind the headlight unit. You could do the same with the tach. I didn't cuz the tach was busted... and F2/F3's do have revlimiters

I did the same thing, chopped speedo and some glass and your set.... or you can get one of the digital speedos that are for road bikes off of ebay, but most only go to 120mph or so. good luck

Re: CBR F2 Acerbis headlight mounting?

yeah, take the speedo off. the bike has a revlimiter weather u know it or not. just rev it up really high and it'll go bap-bap-bap-bap lol. i have a 91 f2, no guages. You really dont need them. 600's are made to turn high rpm's, just shift when you feel like it or at the limiter. you'll be fine. my f2 has 50,000 miles on it and the last 10k were stunted/abused very hard. still runs like a top. oh, and change the oil when it looks like metal flake paint.
