Re: Roadrash Sucks...

That sucks. I like broken bones more than I like road rash. Feel better soon, and tape on some bubblewrap to your back next time :P.

The idea is to not traumatize the wound more than it already has been. I had rash from last weekend. i put the pads on an open area of rash (calf) and i have brand new skin and its all healed up whereas rash on joints (kneecap/elbows) where i couldnt keep a pad on is still thickly scabbed. Difference is night and day.

i bought 5 extra duoderm pads and cover bandage jsut in case... cause i know ill need them again!

spoken like a true road rash vet!! lol good stuff!

That duoderm sounds like the tegaderm stuff i used. two weeks and i was pretty much all healed. helps with taking showers because you dont have to take it off. and keeps that stinging away. Good shit though, i recomend it to anyone.

I used that tegaderm stuff. It works good and I had two bad cases of road rash. Heal up Kane. Chicks dig scars.

My wife probably has the same bumb on her leg from the fiddy. not at the injury, just some one did the same thing as my wife.

Kane,
Sorry about your back, and I got that same road rash on my . Hit a small jump going like 40mph and just lost my balance in the air and came down on my back. More of a jersey burn than RR. Heal up soon bro.

Re: Roadrash Sucks...

I dropped my oil drain plug at 135mph on rt84. I looked in my mirror and saw a cloud of white smoke behind me. I figured it was a truck that I had passed. Then looked back a second time and realized it was me. I went to change lanes and the bike got all squirelly when it hit the rutt between lanes. I managed to slow down and get the bike shut down. The motor was smoked though. That was how I learned, the hard way, to always replace the crush washer when you change your oil. Most people, including me up until that point, just re-use the one on there. The problem is that if you've tightened it once, it's already crushed and it doesn't act as a lock washer anymore. They're .50cents from Honda. Buy 10 of them next time you're at the dealer. Well worth the investment. Always torque to spec as well. If you're a super tweaker, race wire it tool.
