Re: Who do you look up to in our sport

yeah i also forgot the people who pave the way and have the opportunity to show that this isnt just being reckless and being stupid and taking this unserious, it's just like skateboarding terrorrizing a school or bmx'n on some rail look where its at now, professional's are making more money then the president, so im glad that there are people out there helping the sport become big and serious, cause im pretty sick of founding new spots to ride even its pretty controled, i hope there some time where there will be places to enjoy that's it

Re: Who do you look up to in our sport

When I began riding, the Starboyz were on a level that I still don't think anybody is right now....Take that lightly and don't flame it just yet. They were friggin' rockstars on motorcycles....And to me still are. There are many riders out there now with fans, but they had/have a fan club. People tattoo themselves with stars and would wear jackets with stars on them just so people thought they were starboyz. People claimed to be starboyz to riders that didn't know any better. Somebody please claim to be me to get friends or laid...I'll take that as a compliment. The lifestyle. The FTP. Everybody knows FTP. EVERYBODY. The level that they were/are on (in my opinion) is what I looked up to. I will always consider Kevin, Scott and Joe to be the riders I looked up to most. The parties. The fans. The fact they're still in the game pushing the sport the way they are and not just learning highchair circles so every new kid thinks they're number one. Their generosity....I know they gave more sh!t away, paid for more rounds at clubs and housed more stunters than anybody out there. They are entreprenuers. Businessmen (that doesn't even sound right saying that) but they are. They've been in more magazines, toured the world, have a stunt school, had the first stunt forum that influenced this one and are putting on the biggest contest to date and have more love for the sport than could ever be expressed by my words.

Honorable mentions:
TripleXtreme: The "original" Kyle Woods, Brock Catronio and Joe E. Brown. Pushed 1096's riding more than anybody out there. Our nemesis crew that would end up being our brothers.

Wink1100: The first rider that made me rewind a clip literally over a hundred times on a VHS recorder. Popularized the 12:00 and the sport has never been the same since.

Drew Stone: Not only in my top 5 people that I've met to be the best source of conversation, the man has single handedly taken a video camera and shown the world what this sport is all about. When I think of people that take things to another level, his name comes to mind. A pioneer without a bike, been through all the same S#it and hate this sport has to offer, but still has as much love for the game as any of us who ride. Responsible for getting our sport seen by more people than anybody out there....And doing a damn good job doing it. Influenced more "filmmakers" to present our sport with a new level of quality and professionalism.

A.C. Farias: A.C. is an alien. Look at his initials...Alien Creature. He's not from Earth. Why doesn't anybody believe me? Doing Circles, No handers and all the good stuff back when Honda was still making "F" Series bikes. The Michael Jordan of stuntriding. Athletes like A.C. will always have legendary status.

Chauncey Vieira: I hate that kid. Nobody needs a constant reminder that there is somebody better...And he'd just sit there with that s#it eating grin.
The rider today that I would love to see in the number one spot if this sport was X-Game level.

Hardcore riders still pushing it daily, been in the game for many years, getting better and not riding the wave, helping out, not having an ego:

Teach
Joe V
Darius
Britton

There are many more, but I'm getting finger pump.

For those about to clutch....We salute you.

I don`t think there is anymore to say on the subject now Matt Gorka has just about covered it all. I couldn`t agree more with what he has written.

Re: Who do you look up to in our sport

Gorka, Woods, Teach, and Drew Stone as a film maker...I got mad respect for that guy.

Woods has always been cool as hell to me, Gorka is an open an honest dude with good persective on this sport, I respect Teach's amazing ability and professionalism.

There are tons of great people out there, but these are the people that come to mind when I think of who I have been influenced by and respect. I had been influenced by others, but met them in person and was like, whoa....This dude is a friggin douchebasket... The 4 listed above are great riders and or film makers with the personality and integrity to back it up.

Pfeiffer, AC Farias, Woods, the Brunelle Brothers, Darius, Joe Brown and Britton are my fav riders.
Def Drew Stone is the best film maker and Chris and Rhonda from Nascency Project take the best pics, same as David Avilla.

....ooops, I forgot Super Street Bike Magazine for being the one and only true stunter mag!

Re: Who do you look up to in our sport

I look up to mostly people I know or speak to online rather than just people who are good.. 444 lee, british nick, skin etc etc.. paul gower, veggie dave (iq18 films) all helped me loads and are all good riders and good people, lot of respect for disturbed6r, seen him go from newb to really good and he helps me lots with advice etc and all of the above peoples vids inspire me to try new stuff and keep practicing...

French riders rock razerback and tigroo both brilliant stunters with good style, I look up to that a lot as this is the riding style I like most. Sami from Poland (I think poland?) is really good, his video improved my riding loads just watching how he rides...

All down to earth people who are very good on a bike, good style and have time to chat etc..

The Companies (more importantly the individuals who work for those companies who are responsible for this) that are finally starting to back the sport through Corporate Sponsorship....

Otherwise this "sport" would remain an underground lifestyle.
