12's good, riding on the plate = gay. Lots of control need to ride a 12, even more to ride it for slow and forever. I agree they are being over played, meaning everyone is doing them.

I agree with all this and would add that doing one is ok, but if you are going to do another in a run at a comp or show you have to do other ones with variations AND an announcer. Otherwise, the squids and people outside the sport have no idea what skill is needed to do it. They think it is just another good old fashioned wheelie and fall asleep.
However, I would like to see it done more on stock sprockets. That is how I am doing mine and I think it adds to the difficulty and skill needed.
It is still debated, even in the stunt world, with sprockets as "cheating". Now, the shizzel that Kyle is throwing down with the no handed highchairs and parking it highchair, that just leaves me

I believe that 12o'clock wheelies are good and bad for the streetbike stuntriding sport. Good because these wheelies add variation to the numerous of different stunts that can be performed on a sportbike at shows and competitions. They also show how much in control of a bike we all(most of us) are.

Bad, because everyone in the sport right now is doing and/or trying them and that is about it. Last month at StuntWars, every stunter out there was doing super slow stuff, w/ the exception of Darius, and a couple other stunters pulling scary fast combo wheelies. Slow wheelies(12 oclock), kind of get a little old after watching them for about an hour or so. I think at shows and/or competitions, there should be a variety of slow wheelies and also fast paced (scary to the public) type wheelies... combos are good.

my .02 cents,

Re: 12's, Good Or Bad For The Sport!!!

It's different tricks for different audiences. Normal people don't care about super control. It looks too controlled. Most of the time is fun/scary to watch Stunters that are not totally in control.

Bikes are one thing. If you do the trick with trial bike, everybody knows it can be done. But do the same stuff with Z1300 kawa. That is impressive stuff. Braking the tail light with really big bike. When the front is hoisted through the air, it amazing.. Also the sound is important to spectators. There is lot of noise already, so the louder the bike the better.

There are groups that do stunts. But some groups do SHOWs. One Finnish group 'Plan Bee' is good example. When they start the groud can hear how the motors are being 'warmed up' by hitting the rev limiter without mufflers. 'What the **** is going to happend?' , then introduction by doing run with bikes banging to rev limiter and burning rubber. Noise is so loud it is like rock concert, the sound makes your knees wobble. Middle part is basic, but like rock concert it has to end big with exploding tires, bikes layed on they sides putting out smoke as the motors are boiling over. That is a show.

peopel who stunt know how hard 12 shit is, but the average person will think its boring, it is not fast, the bikes are not loud, and it does not look dangerous, the average person is more impressed with things that look dangerous and fast.

i agree i go to the shows to watch b/c im not at the level where i want to compete yet and even tho i know all the stunts and different variations for 12s they do get boring to watch after a while, we need to spice it up a little for the fans.

Re: 12's, Good Or Bad For The Sport!!!

personally I feel that 12's are bad for the sport. It opens a pandora's box, if you will, for all kinds of tom foolery! Imagine people think they are all cool 12'n then some insane son of a b!tch from hell decides he's gonna ride that 12 around in a wheelie donut! Death toll people...we need to think about the children here.. Nac Nacs and stoppies ending in burnouts only.
