![]() | Damaged flywheel threads... How do you get it off now? I bought a xr50 used and was in the process of taking it off the flywheel. I then noticed that the threads inside the flywheel are damaged. The threads on the flywheel are not completely messed up but my flywheel tool will not thread onto the threads. My flywheel tool threads are in great condition. Is there another way to take the flywheel off without using a puller. Any help would be great. I can't think of a way. I don't want to damage the crankshaft threads. Thanks JQ |

Found the link on the net. It sounds like it would work. Anyone have any input. The flywheel, after you remove the nut, is just held on magnetically, right? If so, that method should work. Thanks, JQ

I ***gently*** pryed it up with 2 srewdrivers and hammer method. It worked like a charm. I then wired the stator, solder it and now it's pushing 66 volts when the throttle is applied. I am in the process of wiring in a rectifier. I have a bunch of gsxr 1000 rectifers laying around, hopefully it will do for a rectifer. I already have my lights ready. Will post picture when I am finished. Thanks, JQ
