What Problems can I expect?

I just did the High Volume Oil pump, and i didnt drill out the hole as straight as possable, i think i kinda angled it abit. I know i didnt drill into the case tho. Am i going to expierence any problems now? Thanks, and wish me luck

I drilled mine the same way, because I couldn't get the drill lined up perfect with the stud there. I've had no problems! :YEAH

Also My trailBikes 88 kit doesnt feel as fast as it should, It almost doesnt feel like its much faster then it was stock, Could the cartb be effecting it? I havent dialed it in yet! also i havent really took it past quarter throttle, how long should i break it in for?

you souldn't have any problems w/ yours, but the correct way to do it is to take the one open ended 10mm nut and a closed ended 10mm nut, put them on the long stud (the one that's in the way), lock them together, then use the open ended nut to unscrew the stud, then drill and reinstall. here's a pic from when i did mine (http://www.stuntlife.com/forums/atta...chmentid=61229), you can see the threads where the stud screws into the block.

wanna little hint about breakin?


*(see * below),run the shit out of it.... the rings will seal better, and it will run stronger. no if's and's or but's about it... compression inside the cylinder makes the piston rings seat and seal. the more pressure you put behind the rings making them seal, the better they will seat. all pussing it around waiting for it to break in will do is wear the crosshatch out of the cylinder, and keeps the rings from seating 100%, once the crosshatch is worn, breakin time is used up.


*- before you run the shit out of it, make sure its warmed up to operating temperature. the only thing "break-in" really is, is the piston rings seating and sealing themselves into the cylinder, if you thrash it with a cold engine, you could seize it, then yer fuct.

i used to know a guy who lived by that
philosophy of thrash the shit out of it on break in
his shit ran great for a couple of races then usually blew up
the way ive done it for 30 years
let it idle till warmed up to op temp ride for 15 minutes turn off let cool to room temp ,repeat, change oil check for materials(metals) warm up and ripp it
works for 2 strokes and 4 strokes
main thing is let it warm up like dingo said or you will have probs later on

When I had my YSR rebuilt by Calamari, they had a long paper on how to break it in properly. If I can remember right it was like: warm up engine, ride 5 min. with varied speed, let cool, warm up then ride for 10 min. varied speed.......then do the same for 20 and 30 min. After breaking it in like it said, i raced it that weekend and a month later and it runs flawlessly. Did the same when I put in my 88cc kit. with same results.
