![]() | Well we had about 2 inches of ice and snow a couple days ago and the doesnt like it. Sometimes it runs ok, then sometimes it runs real shitty. It wont rev past like 1/4 throttle. It just bogs down and cuts out. I was thinking mabye its a short somewhere so i reached down to pull out the kill switch wires, thinking it would help, and i got a nice shock. After i turned off the bike and pulled em out it still runs bad. It seems like it runs better when i have the choke on. I was thinking its a clogged main jet, but it goes away after a while so i dunno. Anybody else had this problem? |

![]() | Re: fiddy cutting out in the snow fiddy's don't like the cold... that's all there is to it. it'll act up untill it's properly warmed up, and having the choke on will lean it out and make it run hotter, warming the bike up quicker but too much might make it stall in the cold b/c the air is already so dense. you just have to be paitent and let it warm up before trying to tear it up on one wheel. don't worry my piece wouldn't even start in this cold ass weather (~15F here). oh and imprezawd is wrong, you want to tune the bike to run slightly more rich in the cold, b/c cold air is more dense, naturally making the bike run leaner... ![]() | Re: fiddy cutting out in the snow Going up one size on the main jet without any other carb modifications cures the problem 95% of the time.

![]() | Re: fiddy cutting out in the snow XR70 plug caps are made of rubber. Just throwing that out there.. Got tired of busting stockers every ride.

![]() | Re: fiddy cutting out in the snow Clean ur air filter, change the plug (get one number lower on a ngk plug) and check the cap, try riding with choke on (try both levels), try new gas, clean the carb, warm the bike up good. If it bogs stop and put it in neatrual and rev it up for a couple of seconds, that always help cure bogging problems for me.
