Big Bore or not

I just picked up a xr50 real cheap with a blown piston. My choices are to have the cylinder honed out and put a new 50cc piston in, OR I can pickup one of those trailbikes 88cc kits. I really dont want to put any more than 200 bucks into this motor. What do you guys think is my best bet?

Re: Big Bore or not

It proble wont cost all that much more to do an 88 kit. Go for it! It gives the bike a little extra kick:YEAH

Re: Big Bore or not

The TwoBros. 88cc kit is worth every penny IMO. The stock 50 motor has 2.6 hp. The 88 kit bumps it up to 5.7. I have the dyno graph to prove it. It comes with a cam and carb too. True bolt-on. Do it braaahh!!

Re: Big Bore or not

If durability is the question the 88 kit will last a VeRY long time. I do not no this as a term as of 10 years of something of that manner but I have ridden the 50 Stunt/TB big bore as hard as I can for the past two years now and have had not one mechanical problem.

I hope that this can help answer your question,

Aaron
