![]() | i put my 88 kit on today, the bike runs like shit (stock was way faster)starts right up, breaks up at full throttle, put the jet that was included in the kit. oh, stock carb mod. air box adjustable needle, and stock cam. valves are good. clutch is clunky now. i thought i was off a tooth on the cam gear but when i moved it a tooth, it looked way off. should i put the old main jet back in? |

![]() | Re: 88 kit problems man it could run like shit for too many reasons. ur gonna have to go throught the whole bike. nothing someone can do over the computer. play with carb adjustments. make sure your cam chain is right. plenty of gas in it (it happens). make sure you put the rings in correctly (turn 1 180degrees from the other, black one on top i believe). get a hotter plug to burn off the increased fuel being put in. lemme know if that helps. get the hot plug first, the carb can be a pain if you let it, check it next, then double check the cam, if not fixed take apart and check the rings. |

![]() | Re: 88 kit problems you can also check the tip of the plug to see if you are running too rich or lean which would cause it to "break up" and run like shit. search is broke here, check around on www.fiddylife.com for some info i have seen before it will tell you if your fuel/air mixture is off by how the plug tip looks. this would be what i would do first cause it could be as simple as a hot plug or a carb adjustment. i would find it for you but i'm just too lazy right now. let me know if you can't find it. |
