Small amount of play in rear wheel

When my bikes on a stand, and I grab the rear wheel and try to move it from side to side it has a small amount of play in it. What could that be cause by? Also my back brakes are shot so could it be the rotor moving in the caliper or is it my wheel bearings? BTW its a chinese knock off (Sikk MX XL 125cc)

Re: Small amount of play in rear wheel

isn there any way to prove a wheel bearing or rule out other problems?

Also is this why I tend to sway to one side during stand ups?

Re: Small amount of play in rear wheel

if you can't tell the difference then there's nothing really we can tell to make you know the difference.

it's either the wheel bearings or the spokes are way loose. take it to a mechanic, he'll walk over and wiggle the rear tire and tell you right away what it is.

those knock off pit bikes can be a pain. Got one that threw the chain and tore off the stator pickup after 10 min.. From some loose sprockers that fit like shit and a crappy chain.
