KBC helmets

Does anyone have one and do you like it?
How do they size compaired to Shoei?
I wear a Large Shoei...

I have an HJC CL-14 and I think it SUCKS!
In the summer, it's HOT AS HELL and doesn't flow air good at all and the damn shield fogs up ALL THE TIME!

Thanks

Re: KBC helmets

I have a couple of them, it's an OK helmet. I bought mine for 69.00 bucks on sale at Cycle Gear... it's not as comfortable as a Shoei or some other high end helmet, and it doesn't vent as well either. But for the $$$ and the fact that it is snell and dot approved I can't really knock it. I'm not going to buy another really expensive helmet again. I spent around $600 on my Shoei and when I went down from a christ gone bad, I still got a concussion and amnesia through it, and on top of it a totaled helmet. So I'd say they're good for what you spend on them.

oh and I wear a large in both KBC and Shoei...the KBC seems a little smaller sized but not enough to go up to the XL.

THANKS!

I'm lookin' at the KBC VR-1. It looks pretty cool in the pics, but you can't tell **** from just a pic!

My buddy bought a Shoei RF-1000 and he said that it flowed killer amounts of air compaired to the HJC that he had like mine.
I tried it on and it fit awsome...Large

I don't have $300 to $500 to kick down on a helmet. I just want something that will flow better air and looks pretty cool.

Re: KBC helmets

yea the Shoei's flow badass, I loved my RF900 but damn it didn't hold up at all. When I got the helmet I decided "well you can't really put a price on not having a cracked skull". So I went and bought the brand and style I see most proffesional racer's wearing, betting that that helmet would be better in all regards...i.e. safety, ventalation, comfort, etc. It was confortable as hell but worked like a cheap ***** when it hit pavement, **** messed me up bad even through my "race approved" helmet.

Re: KBC helmets

the VR-1 is a bit narrower than any Shoei...really good helmet for the price. most HJC's are garbage, except the AC-11 and the FG-12. but if you like the KBC, go with it. it's a good mid-range lid
