First videos of me on my handicapped-accessible motorcycle!

Hey so I finally got out on my first ride on my handicapped accessible bike, and what an amazing experience. Ive never been so excited and nervous in my life, but it is the first time in a while I have felt like my old self, which made it worth every penny!

My name is Kris Reckner, and Im from Albany, NY. For those of you that didnt know me I was paralyzed on Memorial Day, May 26, 2008(and Im a veteran, lol) when a car merged into me from the fast lane to the middle lane.m,and sent me sliding headfirst on my back into the guardrail, which 'burst' two of my vertebrae and almost cut off my left arm. Ive got 2 rods and 12 screws in my back and a plate with 2 screws in my left arm. I was headed West on I-90, just past Everett Rd. I spent 8 months in the hospital, 3 months in a HALO and bought the motorcycle a year after I got out of the hospital and got before I got a new car. Besides putting 20,000 miles on my sportbike in 2.5 seasons, I put 7,600 on my V Star cruiser in one season including a 2,600 cross country trip in 3 days.

Wish me luck and let me know what you think!

hey kris im glad to see some one in your condition enjoying them self riding a bike but you might want to put on a helmet , i know you are just making test runs around a parking lot but if your landing gear fails and you come to a stop you cant put your foot out to keep your self from tipping over ..

i have had my pant leg get caught on my heel guard at a complete stop and when i fell my head hit the ground so hard it split the styrofoam inside my helmet and blew the vent off the back of my helmet..

have fun and stay safe ..

Dude you are a WARRIOR!!! So stoked to see you back on the bike, you aren't letting anything hold you back whatsoever! If you are passionate about something you will do anything to succeed! I am a very successful colorblind graphic designer. I know my disability doesn't compare to the severity of yours whatsoever, but the concept is similar. All my colleagues and professors said my disability would hinder success in my career and I should probably look into something else. But I didn't let that hold me back! And now 4 years after college I am designing the color and graphics for YAMAHA powersports products!!! Keep it up brah! and please do us all a favor and put some gear on! Hope for nothing but the best for you!
