how to do a vavle job on a 900rr?
you still haven't sold that thing?
i see looks like i wont thought..it dont sound to bad..just has 12o00 miles so i figured i would do it now...but **** it i guess..NAGS nobody has any money..everybody told me they would gove me 3500 for it...well io try and sell it for 3500 and everybody rins the other way
Are you tqalk'n about a "valve job" or adjusting your valve clearance by using the shims under the lifter bucket? I re-shimmed my '97 dbl R I had and It kinda sucks, but it's not so bad. They leave you no room to do **** on these bikes. Your obviosly gonna have to take the cams off and that kinda sux with the motor in the frame. You'll def need the honda service manual for the intake and exhaust valve clearance spec's. If you go to RRZONE.COM they have some of the service manuals in Adobe format. I'd rather give the dealership the $160 or so than have to go through that ****
Valve job
The guy w/ my bike was supposed to do a valve job and replace a bent valve and they were going to charge me $850 when it was done.....I never got the head back though, the a****le kept it
As far as just adjusting, it would be alot cheaper and I would just have the shop do it as they will do it quickly and correctly. That would be a pain in the azz if you had to go back and redo it....

Thought I would check at the local Honda dealership not long ago about checking and (if need be) adjusting the valve clearance on my 929 with 18,000miles.
Said is would be $530
I actually laughed at the guy and walked out. F*** THAT! Guess I'll be tackling this one on my own.
