has anyone ever owned/ridden one? i saw one on craigslist a while back for some outrageous price and was wondering if lived up to the hype.

supposed to be bad ass... from what i have read they are bassed off of the yamaha GP bikes that rossi rides

Not based on GP bikes. This bike was out when GP bikes where still 2 strokes. This bike was made for World Super Bike when they ran 750. They suck for the street awsome for the track. When they came out they where like $25,000!

They were made and sold for the piblic in 99 only. I belive retail was about 14999. They go for twice that now.

i'd rather have a nice 03 gsxr 750 with nice suspension and gear setup..
it would be sick if honda made a 750cc sportbike

I have always wished for that but Im pretty sure it will never happen.

I remember waiting for Kawasaki to come out with a new ZX7R in 2000 thinking they would try and one up Suzuki. But we all know what happen with that.
