new lid ruined???

I brought my new blue gsxr icon lid to a grapics spot and got him to put some yellow in it too match the bike a little. not only did he put too much on he put the tape(whatever its called) on then cut it out with a precision knife!!! he actually cut right into the plastic to the point where it cannot be buffed out.. .... u can see the straight line across where started the flames

i cannot put pics up as i brought it back after getting a better look at at the office today. the guy who owns the place did it and was not there so i had a chat with the chick who i first spoke to about it and expressed my and . she said he should be able to get it buffed out and fix the outside/inside the lines problems on the parts that i wanted left yellow. i left it but thought afterwards (they closed) that i should have taken it to a dealership (bought it at HAI in orlando)

has he jeopardized the integrity of the helmet?

am gonna call him in the morning and tell him not to do anything with it till i get it checked out.

I sure as hell wouldn't use it now. Take the receipt for the helmet next time and make him buy you a new one.

Re: new lid ruined???

Make him pay for sure but as far as the safety of the helmet, the plastic shell is for the most part just for looks. It's the styrofoam crap underneath that matters. A sratch in the plastic doesn't matter.

Re: new lid ruined???

i have a lot lid to go with my lot bike, but my minty that was ruined retails for 420 here. i will only do it on principle because of the way i was treated there at his shop. i took it to a grand opening of the local Honda dealership i was invited to where the rep from icon and all the Honda brass attended (nicely catered invite only deal) and was told the integrity of the lid was not jeopardized but it was ruined. Im rotted cause i cant get it here.

will have to pm tice to check stock
