 | How much is this going to cost me? Broken chain... So I was out riding today, and had done maybe 2 wheelies, nothing big, I was in town/countryish and wasn't trying to get caught. Both first gear, and not very long. So I turn the corner to go to church, and just my luck, about 1000 meters out, I go to pop it up and I hear a loud snap...I gave a little gas to see what was up and the bike shuts off... So I pull over, get off and look to see my chain hanging there. Not only that, but it looks like its been wrapped up around my front sprocket, and I am leaking coolant. Obviously without pics and a better description no one can FOR SURE know what is wrong...but anyone experience this before? The bike shop I had it "towed" to isn't open for another day, and I really need to see how much this might cost me. So just curious as if I could get a ROUGH (very rough probably) estimate. I needed my bike on Tuesday for a bike trip too...guess thats not happening.  |

| Re: How much is this going to cost me? Broken chain... depending on what needs to be replaced, other than chain. you're probably looking at somewhere between $7.00 - $1,843.00 but that's just a rough(very rough) estimate. sorry to hear that though, that sucks |

| Re: How much is this going to cost me? Broken chain... my buddy had his chain snap on his r1 and it busted the cases, you dont work on your own bike? that will cost twice the price for someone to fix it, whatever your problem maybe. do the work yourself.......  |

| Re: How much is this going to cost me? Broken chain... masterlink will cost like 7 bucks for the chain.. if u cracked the cover buy a used one for like 30 bucks off ebay buy a gasket and your set.. its like 15 bolts to take it on and off dont have the dealer do it man.. wasting your money |
