Suzuki GSX-R600 To Big For Me?

Hey I was looking into buying a Suzuki GSX-R600. My buddy is telling me it's to big of a sport bike to start on and i should buy a kawazaki 250R. But from some of the things I have heard about them, their a joke.

I think he is just saying that because I am a small guy 5'5 120lbs.
I have a 2003 honda cr250r so would a GSX-R600 be to big of a jump?

no its not too big of a jump. just take it slow i never rode anything before i got my 636 and i havent wrecked yet while driving(knock on wood). your gonna wreck at some point in your riding career just be as safe, smart and careful as you can. you'll be fine

Re: Suzuki GSX-R600 To Big For Me?

as far as "sportbikes" are concerned 600 is the smallest.
250's are like in class of their own and dont have enough power to get you out of trouble IMO. unless us talkin bout those crazy gp 250's but thats a dif story. lol

if you have a brain.. and some restraint....a 600 will be fine.. but take it easy.. and dont get caught up in whos bike is faster crap.. they're all fast.. and dont try to hang with the experienced riders through the twisties.. ride at your own pace and you'll do fine..

Re: Suzuki GSX-R600 To Big For Me?

my 1st "street bike" was a 600. I'm 5'6 130 lbs & never had a problem. if your riding a 250 2-stroke now, you will be fine.

+1 If your ridin a 250r, you should be able to handle a 600. Just remember not to ride above your ability.

if your buddy loand you a 1000rr to learn on.. he is nuts...loaning a new rider a liter bike is like giving a toddler a gun.. (my logic is riding a rental vs a squid buying a liter bike thats his pride and joy.. the rental is worse...)or he secretly took out some life ins on you... either way.. glad it worked out for ya ..

If you are careful at first, you will be fine on a 600. That is what many seem to start out on.

you'll be fine on a 600 just do ride outside your means and use your head.
oh yea. don't stand up on the bike while your in a turn and don't ever put your foot down in a corner.
