Exclamation Alpinestar, Icon, O'neal, Motophoria or ....?

Hey guys, what's up?

I've been riding for around 2 years and never used any kind of armor except helmet and gloves(when it's cold), but now I wanna start learning some wheelies and stoppies etc...

So after searching the internet I found out that people are using:
Alpinestars $229.95
Icon $100 + $55 for elbow
O'neal $143.99

Motophoria $169.99
and I also found some stuff like: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...a tegory=6750

Now my questions are:
Which of these you consider the best?
What are the best lower body armors, as I couldn’t find anything that look good for protection except some shorts.

I hope you guys can share with me and others your knowledge and experience.

first off icon is shit.

if your want comfort, ventilation and protection invest in a shift or alpinestars jacket it works great. I love mine

Thanks Tony, Those jackets look awesome.
I was thinking of using an armor like those I've attached with a T-shirt or a normal jacket, what do you think? Cause I'll most probably gonna crash a lot lol

armor blows ass as soon as you sweat you cant get it off it limits your movement i'd rather have a little less padding and more movement

Tony's right, you cant limit your movement when you're learning. I rock just an icon armor vest, $100 and it pads the fall a bit... lol, we all fall man

Man ... you already do what I'm trying to learn, that's why you don't need as many protection as I need, unless you do crazy things ... I'm sure you remember when you just started

By the way guys, how about the protection for the lower part of the body ... are there any good shorts/pants etc....

and thanks a lot guys for your help

I am soon to be a new rider and a hell of a lot of riders have been saying, Icon Is not the way to go because you dont see pro racers wearing Icon. Alpinestars Is by far the best gear for racing I would say but, Icon gear Is great for stunting I would say because It Is street gear not racing gear.

661 and AVS make some great protection. I run a 661 "Core Saver" w/ 661 elbow/forearm gaurds, and AVS "Glider Lite" knee pads. Virtually no restriction w/ that setup.

Re: Alpinestar, Icon, O'neal, Motophoria or ....?

I use Icons Elbow, knee and Chest protector. I regularly wear Innovation Sports CTi2 Knee braces.

I wear Icon Mesh Arc Pants which have knee pads in them and rotate between My Alpinestars Mesh Jersey Jacket and My Shift White Pinstriped Jacket.

For the past year and a half I have been wearing the Alpinestars Octane Riding shoe. They work out great. I have recently Purchased a pair of Alpinestars SMX 2 Boots but have not ridden in them yet. They are a little weird to get used to but after about 2 sessions you will never go back to tennis shoes again.

Any questions pm me or call HAI at 407-447-1176 and we would be more than happy to help get you into the right protective equipment for your riding style.

Thanks,
Tice
