Re: DRZ or zx10?

if it comes down to an 08 zx10 or a drz I'd get the drz no doubt.

but if you are talking 04-05 zx10s then I'd get that for sure

Re: DRZ or zx10?

Just went on a 2 hour ride on the DRZ. Only thing that sucks is you really have to work to get it to wheelie over 20MPH. 55 MPG makes it an awesome commuter. I plan on doing a FCR carn, 440 big bore, and a yosh pipe to give it the power of a CRF450 this winter.

Re: DRZ or zx10?

What's funny to me, is all the people who don't ride bikes or stunt that I know don't believe a motard could be fun.. I'm like "are you serious?". the place next door to my work has the husqvarna motards and they're sweet as shit but too pricey for what they are IMO.

Way too much fun. Today a car broke down in a 1 lane construction zone. I hopped the curb and rode around it on the sidewalk.

Re: DRZ or zx10?

IMO get the DRZ since u already got a sportsbike.

I dont kno if your looking to get new or used...but you can occasionally find a used older (05) Husky610 for about the same as a newer DRZ (07ish).

Another bike to consider, and my personal favorite, is the XR650R...u just have to make it street legal and then its kicker only no magic button.

XR650L is street legal w/electric start. you just need 17"s and a bigger front rotor. they are big, heavy & ugly IMO

Re: DRZ or zx10?

If you get the drz go 2 up in the rear and put a yosh on it this will take care of the lack of power down low. Also stiffin up the front end for stoppies. This bike is a blast around town in and out of the trails nothing you cant do Most fun I have had riding in years.

Super Duke sucks my friend had it for about two weeks its not smooth and it is real heavy but looks sick, he ended up trading it in for a Husky 510

Husqvarna is the shit. Dont go with the 610 in my opinion its the old man commuter motard. Its heavy at 315 dry and it has a softer suspension lacking in power even though the numbers are close to the 410 and 510. I had the 450r and it was an all around gd bike. Lighter (265)and Faster than the drz smooth as hell never had an issue a blast to stunt. I believe they want $ 7600 for it. My next one is the 510 probably at the end of the summer, killer ride you wont want to ride a street bike for awhile. The only problem is you need to go through the bike every once in awhile, shit comes loose.

zx-10 is cool but you need to go with the motard you wont regret it

Re: DRZ or zx10?

I'm gonna pick up a 2nd job for a little bit before I pick either one of these bikes... I was about to get the zx10 yesterday but they couldn't put together the right numbers for me so i decided to wait.

Re: DRZ or zx10?

Don't get a motard! Especially a husky. Its a chainsaw engine in a frame with two wheels. As for reliability, my old mate fucked it off cos It kept poppin out of gear and overheating etc. I took the 08 zx 10 out for a test ride and thought It was a beauty. More than enough power, Ohlins dampener. The only concern is the output shaft cos of the 04-05 engine cases crackin cos of wheelies! Hopefully sum1 like kane might enlighten the rest of us on that one. Get the 10!

DRZ engine is like a tank. Even with a 440 big bore kit. I ride mine on the highway to work almost everyday.
