Re: Chrome Rims = wigg destruction or too much weight?

weight matters when your killin it and notice every small change to ur bike

but i dont think it matters so much when ur not doing anything more than "the basics"

for example;

i was murdering sit down no hand O's then shortened my 12 bar all the way to the rear seat and the bike wanted to spin faster and i lost control and am having to re-learn that 1 trick from a minor Counter weight reduction.

and yes OMR's bike would be filthy hot with chrome and graphics

funny you should mention that trick because i haven't done it in a long long time and while my plastics were off the bike getting painted i was doing them again but tonight with my plastics back on i couldn't do one and i tried quite a few times....

very frustrating

I have learned small changes make big differences, the guys who dont have problems like that never make changes, which could be good or bad...

hell my problem is in my 2 and a half years i have never stunted the same bike for more than 6-8 months! which i learned is a no no...just find what works and murder it to all end!!!!

with that said i am currently changing my set up....duhhhhhhhh I never learn

I dont know... i think some riders are just more sensitive to their setup and others just ride thru it... I rode a completely different bike in Vegas last year (again thank you Sean and Aaron) and had no problem whatsoever, rode it like it was mine...

another example, i did a show this past weekend and had been practicing with the bike streetfighter, but put FF on for the show, still murdered all my tricks with barely any practice that way...

i cant see moving a bar in a few inches making a HUGE difference, and you should be able to compensate pretty much immediately...

Its like the tire thing, some guys only want to use ONE type of tire... just take 4 seconds to get used to whatever you have to and rock it... there are so many things changing, variables, during a wheelie that small things like an extra 1/2 lb of weight or where your axle is in the swingarm should be the least of your worries

BTW, i dont think chrome would add a substantial amount of weight, so if you like it rock it... but im with T-neck... chrome is played...

give me annodized or powder or something else...

Re: Chrome Rims = wigg destruction or too much weight?

chrome still looks good, its just that everyone decided to get it this past year...

and yeah +1 on the polish... ill never polish anything of mine ever again, the upkeep is WAYYYYY too much pain in the ass

Re: Chrome Rims = wigg destruction or too much weight?

Update; The wheels I got are for a zx10r front weighs 8lbs. rear weighs 11.5lbs I think I can still use the front when i pack my 636 bearings and inner spacer into it, but the rear is wider than a 636 rim and requires a wider inner spacer I know i can throw a 180 rear tire on it but I wonder if that will F up my circle game? maybe a bonus to running the wider zx10 newer style rear wheel on my 03 636 is I may not have to use spacers since it is prolly as wide as a the stock 03-04 rear wheel?????

If this doesnt work out I have minty ass Chrome zx10r wheels look like the newr 05+ 636 wheels in chrome I will sell for 400 shipped or trade for a set of red or ti colred 05+ 636 wheels

not true the front is the same as a 636 wheel its only the rear that is different and i would say is prolly only a half pund heavier that a 636 rear I willing to bet a 636 chrome rear wheel is 11lbs. as opposed to the 11.5lbs.

do you think i can make this zx10 rear work for me with out it jackin up my game?

maybe but I learned smaller tires equal sicker wheelies, thats why the f2's and f3's are sik for rocken fast circles they got like 160 rear tires
