| my f4 sucks My 99 f4 keeps on killing batteries. i got my bike this year rode it a few times and my battery dies while i riding. I got it home and got a new battery, it starts right up rides fine. a few hours of riding it dies again. Now this is twice in one day. I'm like WTF? I got it looked at by a honda mechanic and he said i need a regulator rectifier (cant spell) I replaced that part, the bike was running fine for about two weeks. Then last night it killed the battery again. I have no idea whats wrong with this effing bike. Its driving me nuts. Anyone have a solution to this problem or have had this problem please help. Any advise will be appreciated |

| my f4i has had a dead battery since i got it, i just push start it all the time. i don't know if it's as easy with an f4 (i'm guessing not) but i can start mine at 5 mph walking beside it, so i don't sweat it.

| if ur regulator fried u probably have a short. and the short probaby fried ur 2week old regulator. to test (buy a service manual) or in summary, replace regulator, charge battery somehow, turn ingition OFF, disconnect battery, connect ammeter between negative cable and neg battery post. read current. should be less than 1ma. if more than u have something drawing current w/ the bike off. if that's okay then start the bike and see if the current flows the other way (charging), if not then u got problems. clymer has a schematic in the back of the book so u can try ur hand @ electronics and find the short urself. don't just replace the regulator cuz it will probably fry too. good luck, jay |

| if u ride around town w/ highs it will hurt ur elec. system, the charging system cannot handle consistant low speed charging w/ high beams on, then factor in ur fan, horn, turns, and brake lights |
