Tires

I am trying to decide what type of tires to get. I've narrowed it down to Metzlerz Z6, pirelli diablo strada, and michilen pilot powers. What do you guys think the best tire would be. I do a lot of highway riding and street riding. I'm working on getting some stunts down but for now its mainly highway and streets.

Re: Tires

I have had the regular pirelli diablo sport tires and I loved them. They wore a bit quick but definatly gripped like a champ. In the poring rain I could clutch up a heavy *** F2 and not spin.

I curently have the pilot powers on my r1 and won't buy them again. They have good grip but my rear is wearing like ****. I have 3 weeks on my rear tire and its almost worn close to bald in the middle. I don't do any burnouts (not 1 on these), I do do alot of wheelies. I have prolly like 1500 miles on my rear, althougt alot of those are wheelie miles they just wear way to fast. My front is like new and is good, but wheelies killed my brand new rear in no time.

What I would suggest is one of 2 tires. I have heard alot of awsome things about both of these and they are the 2 I'm definatly going to try cause of all the good I hear.

Metzler M3, and Michilin Pilot Road.

The pilot road is suposed to be the longest lasting stunt tire. You can read the review over at www.haibikeshop.com

I would go with one of those.

If you don't mind a tire that wears alittle fast but is truly an awsome tire, the regular Diablo sport. I loved them except for the wear. But lasted a hell of alot longer than my pilot powers.

The key is you want a really sticky front tire, and a good tire that lasts on the rear.

What I thought of doing is keeping my pilot powers front and doing the pilot road rear.

i think I went on alittle to much in this post.lol

Re: Tires

I've always run Dunlop Qualifiers. I think they are a great bang for the buck. Just dont do burn outs with them.

Re: Tires

Pilot Powers are the grippiest of all three. They wear pretty quick though but are definitely worth every penny!

Re: Tires

I would check into the Bridgestone Battleaxe 14's, very good tires, just my I have them and love them. The Pilot Powers are also very good, but do wear extremely fast. But check out the Battleaxe 14's, it's worth the look.

Re: Tires

Those would be the same ones. Good tires. I'm not sure where the cheapest place to get them is, but I'll do some research and let you know on this thread. Got nothing else to do right now

chaparralmotorsports.com, seems to have the better prices, and free shipping as well. Just something to check out.
