Re: This is really messed up. check out this police fourm!!!!

even profiles wether you want to admit it or not. what do you think when you see an echo with a "keep tahoe blue" sticker? what do you think when you see some beat down 80s subaru with a greatful dead sticker? a slammed honda with a 10' wing and coffee can exhaust?

its BS that cops will pull you over based on what you drive and what they assume. BUT, if most guys riding around with cages on their bikes didnt break the law they wouldnt just start profiling us as stunters. the problem is all these squids go out and get a brand new bike, get a buncha shiney parts, ride around like jackasses and speed/crash into stuff which causes the "all sportbike riders are irresponsible" bs.

and yea its messed up you can get away with murder if you're diving certain cars. back in highschool i drove a 1970 camaro z28 (500hp) and cops used to tell me to burn out at stoplights etc...but i gotta be on my gaurd watchin for cops on a bike even if im riding normal. but thats life...

Re: This is really messed up. check out this police fourm!!!!

It was pretty retarded they called every rider a stunter and someone said no one stunts in the middle of nowhere. what a bunch of bs!
My little brother and I load up my F3 on sunday afternoons and drive 40 minutes to get out of the city. We practice until it gets dark with no crowd.

I think it isn't good to generalize. That goes for all the stunters as for the cops. I have a few friends that work for the police and all of them ride/stunt as well. We sometimes even have some cool cops coming over to the bike meetings on Saturday night before we head out. It just really depends who you are dealing with. Same for us riders. A lot of us stunt safely but you will always find some jerks that are ruining it for everybody by doing stupid things.

These people are referred to by the larger sportsbike community as "squids", an acronym for "stupid, quick, underdressed, ignorant and dangerous"

oh snap!

Had a friend who was a cop and his attitude was fair, stunt in a parkinglot away from people you might hurt and he would just tell you to be carefull and be cool about it. Do it on the street and endanger people and he would throw the book @ you

Re: This is really messed up. check out this police fourm!!!!

Its a shame the thread is closed. Not too often do you see a large group of police officers blatantly admitting to profiling people on the street. If only I had the time to advocate for each "victim" of their profiling... Think about one person/group that tracked each of those officers of the law who openly discuss how and why they treat someone because of the vehicle they drive... I do believe some shit would fly and some people finally realize that just because you wear a uniform with a shiny badge doesnt make you the king of the country... there are a whole lot more "civilians" than cops....lol

As for being a "squid" on the streets...

more power to ya. There is nothing more fun than rockin wheelies down the highway. Hell, MOST guys doing it have more control over their bikes than the ones who arent....

Re: This is really messed up. check out this police fourm!!!!

So guy who started that threads wife probably cheated on him with a dude who does power wheelies. hey ya know what they say women love guys who can get it up.

But back to being serious im so used to this profiling. Being young and driving a bright red acura rsx type-s doesnt help me much either but its a fact of life. It seems like the only ones who bother me around here for anything are the newbs who just got thier badge.

Screw`em all, my buddy got a wreckless driving ticket by sitting at a red light then accelerating to fast off the line to merge into the left lane to turn. Most of them are pigs so what can you expect...
