How can -u- tell

How can you tell if your clip-on is bent? There are no stress fractures or any other obvious signs.

Playa, the easiest way is to ride down the road about 35-40moh, let go of the bars and sit back a little and see if they both look like they are the same angle. thats how i tell

Rookies, rookies, rookies, all you have to do is turn the bars all the way left and measure the distance between the bar end and tank and then do the same thing on the right. If one is bent you'll be able to tell.

Well, if you're going to measure it like that, every bike I've ever had had bent bars/clip-ons I wonder how that happened
I like a little adventure in my life

Okay. I'm not a mechanic, but maybe you could run a level down the bar at four different points on it (at every 90 degrees to the horizontal, perpendicular to the end circle) and it would tell you. But I would think if it's not bent enough for you to see without devices and you yank on it and it doesn't break, you'd eventually adjust to it.
