| Don't waste your money on modding it up -- spend it on shit like track schools. As far as prepping it, race prepping and trackday prepping are different. I assume you want to do track days? You need to replace the coolant with distilled water (and some water wetter), pull out the lights (or tape them, but I'd just pull 'em out), PUT TAPE OVER YOUR SPEEDOMETER. And buy some sticky tires. If you want to RACE prep it, search for race prepping on google. There's a lot of safety wiring involved. You'll also need a lower fairing that holds 5 quarts of liquid. The only mods I'd do are frame sliders. I'd remap the thing too just to make sure your power delivery is as smooth as possible. You don't need an aftermarket exhaust system or anything, that's just more money to spend. Also, get some heavy duty case covers (i.e. NRC). Maybe get some rearsets w/ GP shift pattern (the reason for this is so your don't put your toe under the shift lever when upshifting while exiting a turn and accidently hitting your toe on the surface and upshifting by mistake). Oh, and scrap your stock steering damper and get one that actually works. I'd also suggest brake pads + brake line upgrades (I like Galfer, the lines come with a bleeder at the banjo bolt). From there it's up to you. |

| as far as the tire situation... go with pirelli diablo corsa if you got the bucks... even if you lean on them pretty hard they still have a whole lot of traction |
