So tell me if this isn't BS...

bout a week and a half ago, a buddy of mine (also roommate) and I were strollin down our street. Me on my r6 and him on his sv650. we were kind F*ckin around a little bit popping wheelies, nothing huge though right? So, our driveway is approaching, so I signal and start to slow down. Next thing I hear is the loud ass screeching of tireds and I'm laying face down on the road. Appearently what happened was, he wasn't done f*ckin around and wasn't paying attention to where our driveway was. He rear ended me and I immediatly flipped off my bike (all 130lbs. of me) and the bike slid about 40 feet leaving a sweet nylon line on the road from my frame slider (thank god for that thing.) I got up and kinda shook it off, and walked over to the ditch that my buddy had ended up. made sure he was alright and then went and picked up my bike. Because of the frame slider, my bike has such minimal damage that it was still ridable. my friends suzuki however, didn't make it. Because it too went in the ditch, but then flipped right back out... DOH!

But here is the part of the story that relates most to the title of the topic. one of our damn neighbors call our gay-ass city police and reported the accident. By the time they had shown up, we already had our bikes rolled into the driveway and out of the street/yard. Well they took a bunch of pictures, parametics showed up, one of the cops yold us about how he has a harley and a "gixter" (what a tard) and that hes always chasing bikes and getting out ran while watching the radar reading getting faster and faster. So at this point we figured he was cool and wasn't gonna do much more than take our information down and report the accident. BUT NOOOOOOOOOOO... he threw in a $540 negligent driving ticket. THAT is the part that seems to me like complete bullsh*t. because first of all, none of the cops saw the accident, nor did they see our bikes anywhere other than our driveway. So basically it sounds to me like he shouldn't have any problem getting off this ticket. what do you all think?

fight it. mistemeanor commited out of the view of the officer. The only person that could really charge you to it is you neighbor if they decide to charge you/testify... FTP.

and the thing is, the neighbor probably didn't even see the accident happen. He probably just heard it and went to see what it was. We don't even know for sure who it was, but so far we've heard from 3 differen't neighbors that it was probably this one guy down the street that always call the cops on stupid things. HAHA so here's what did to show my discontent with him; I took off my muffler and flew by his house a few times.

yeah pretty much. His reasoning (the cop) for giving him the ticket was, because it happened, he must have been driving negligently.

fight it, have your friend be there to and its 2 against 1 neighbor. power in numbers works in court. just say u lost control then ur friend did, must have been a oily spot on the road.

Re: So tell me if this isn't BS...

thats what I would have done if he was giving the ticket to me. BTW I think the ticket system in cali is a little different than here is washington. like, on our tickets it tells us how much it's gonna cost us. I know this because I actually took a bike trip down to the redwoods with teh same friend that crashed into me, and we got a speeding ticket on the way back.

Re: So tell me if this isn't BS...

Here in Cali I crashed out of site from the cops, but they gave me a point on my driving record because the pig saw blood & had to do the right thing... Bull sh*t! I had a little cut, refused paramedics... Still he wrote up an accident report. He tryed to say my license was invaild cause it was a permit. More Bull Sh*t! I fought the ticket no problem, but the point was on the record.

Did the cops take pictures of the scene? Did the cops see any debris from the crash on the road? There may be no way to prove the accident even happened on the road... Maybe? No witnesses?

I was filming at a stunt spot when one ryder looped his stoppie. I caught the whole thing on tape. The bike was rydable, but the guys foot was cut up from the road. (WEAR BOOTS FOOLS!!!)

As we were taking his bike off the road the cops started to show up.(Lucky I didn't have a bike there that night, my car was hidden around the corner) I knew if the cops saw my video camera the whole crew would be fu*ked... I bounced, fast! FTP!!! Good thing too, another guy brought his video camera but it had a dead battery. The cops found it & tryed to see what was on the tape. Made him charge off a guys cig lighter adapter. (All they saw was some squirrel fu*kin) - Thats another story LOL!

Basically they told the cops that the guy had crashed on a skateboad moments before the cops arrived. The cops had no proof!!! They impounded bikes cause the road was closed due to construction... All charges if any, were dropped!!!

FTP FTP FTP

Sorry for the long winded postin' - My 4 Cents
