Im a salesman at my local bike dealership and we mainly deal with yamaha and kawi bikes. I just took an 01 929 in on trade for an R1 but on the title of the 929 it says that the model is still a CBR900RR. I was just wondering if this was mistake on the actual title or if that was how the kept the model number. If you know the deal please shoot me a response. Thanx

Yeap when I bought my 01' 929 it was listed as 900RR..
Also every time I get it serviced it's on the receipt..
If I’m not mistaken the 00' and 01' 929 both are that way..
Not sure of the 954 though..

 

I saw a 929 at school that said 900 too. confused the hellouttame. I thought he did a faring swap or some ****....but the year was a 929 year. no clue why they vin it 900 and tag it 929.

Same thing with the new ZX6RR, it is a 636......Go figure....

 

the 954 is the same also

 

i fi remember right the 929 is tagged as a 900rr2 and a the 954 is a 900rr3. if you go to the dealer and look at the shipping tags on the crate you will see the 954s say 900rr3
